What is important in life?
The Bible has something to say about that: "The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love." (Gal. 5:6)
How does faith express itself through love? You can have faith that God is good and wants to use you to care for orphans, but unless you actually bend down and hug one, your belief has no shoe leather.
As James says, "even the demons believe and shudder." (James 2:19)
That same verse in Galatians begins "neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value." In other words, culturally-defined religion doesn't count, it's love that counts.
